Thinking of Grandpa
January 11, 2009
Red Sovine – Teddy Bear
Once when I was very young, my Mom and I were listening to this song on the radio, my Mom was wondering who would really give this kid a ride and my answer was immediate, grandpa. Every time he listened to this song he teared up and I had no doubt that he would be lined up to offer a ride if he could.
Grandpa loved these tear-jerker songs and would always tear up. That is one thing we shared, I too find myself tearing up at songs like this. Any time I find a new one, I think how grandpa would have loved it, and every time I hear this song I recall listening to it with him and how we both would get misty eyed.
Happy 200th Jesse Fell
November 10, 2008
Today is the 200th birthday of Jesse Fell, who, among other things, helped found Normal Illinois (at the time named North Bloomington) was pivotal in bringing ISU to Normal and founded many other small towns in central Illinois.
There was several good artilces about him in the Pantagraph this sunday and I encourage you to read them.

I did not make it in early enough to get the cachet envelope today but I did manage to get a stamp canceled with the anniversary commemorative cancellation stamp.
Starting a new blog.
November 10, 2008
It has been a while, but I have talked myself into starting a new set of blogs. I am not sure what direction that I am going to go with them just yet, but we’ll see.
This will be my article blog and I will be doing a photo blog over on blogger.com.
